OK… I know… I know! Google PR doesn’t mean anything anymore. Well, I don’t really care. I still found it neat today when a page that was created on June 12, 2008 now has a page rank of 4.

Yeah… that’s right.

So what’s the deal? Does google update PR on new pages only? According to some sources, PR hasn’t been updated for 155 days.

Anybody else see an update on any of their pages recently?

Update:

I’m a goof… here, I thought I was breaking some incredible news!

Guess not.

Myself and a lot of people noticed it when our Twitter profile pages magically received Page Rank. Mine got a 3… unfortunately, ProspectMX’s hasn’t been indexed yet.

I’m just happy they did it at all. Sure, page rank isn’t THAT important to me, but when you put a site up in April and as of July it was STILL saying “No page rank information available,” well, you start to think Google’s personally ignoring you.

Of course, now I can rest easy knowing that Google thinks a website with no specific theme (yet) and barely any incoming links, is worth a PR of 2. Oooooh. (The sad thing is, I honestly don’t know whether I’m being sincere or sarcastic.)
